reaffirmed the government's commitment to expanding Iraq's oil industry and developing its production, export, and refining capabilities through advanced technology and international expertise.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office said al-Zaydi met on Thursday with Mohammed al-Amin, ExxonMobil's representative for the Middle East, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Oil Minister, Iraq's ambassador to the United States, and several advisers.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Iraq and the American energy company in line with the government's economic and energy priorities, particularly efforts to increase crude oil production.
Al-Zaydi said the government intends to advance oil industry development projects across multiple sectors, with an emphasis on improving production efficiency, expanding export capacity, and upgrading refining operations through modern technologies and specialized expertise.
He also highlighted the importance of establishing effective investment partnerships, attracting foreign companies, and facilitating the transfer of advanced technologies to Iraq. These efforts, he noted, are part of a broader government approach to improving the investment climate and reinforcing Iraq's standing in international energy markets.
