Head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s firm support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people’s right to freedom, self-determination, and an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
During a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq Samar Awadallah, Al-Sudani voiced concern over the continued targeting of civilians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as attacks by settlers. He also highlighted difficulties in delivering humanitarian aid and medicines as winter approaches.
Al-Sudani called for consolidating the ceasefire, ensuring civilian protection, and maintaining the steady delivery of humanitarian assistance, while reiterating Iraq’s rejection of forced displacement and settlement expansion.
