Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi reaffirmed during a phone call with Saudi Shura Council Speaker Abdullah bin Mohammed Al ash-Sheikh that Iraq rejects any use of its territory or airspace to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia or neighboring countries.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Riyadh, regional developments, and several issues of mutual interest. Al-Halbousi also condemned the attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, stressing Iraq’s commitment to safeguarding the security of its neighbors and strengthening ties with them.
For his part, the Saudi Shura Council speaker highlighted the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, expressing his country’s desire to further expand bilateral cooperation and praising Baghdad’s position against threats to Saudi security and stability.
