Iraq’s Ministry of Agriculture is continuing its field monitoring operations targeting farms producing high-grade rice seeds, with the latest inspection campaign covering contracted fields in Ghammas District, Diwaniyah Governorate.
The ministry stated that the specialized committee carried out final field inspections to assess varietal purity, identify any unwanted crop varieties or harmful weeds, and ensure that the fields comply with approved genetic and physical specifications.
These efforts are aimed at strengthening oversight of seed production, ensuring compliance with technical quality standards, improving the quality of locally produced seeds, and providing reliable agricultural inputs to support the development of Iraq’s farming sector.
