An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck areas northwest of Kalar in Sulaymaniyah province on Saturday morning.

Iraq’s Ministry of Transport said the earthquake occurred approximately 5 kilometers northwest of Kalar at 10:15 a.m. local time, noting that residents in nearby areas felt the tremor.

The ministry confirmed that no casualties or material damage had been reported so far, while urging residents to rely on official sources for updates and avoid spreading unverified reports.
